چکیده

This work is a contribution to the study of the elementary excitations and magnetic properties of a super-lattice such as [Co(tm)/Cu(tnm)]N, represented by the N atomic planes Heisenberg ferromagnetic system where the nearest neighbour and next nearest neighbour exchange, and dipolar interactions are considered in addition to the surface anisotropy. This study is based on the linear spin waves theory. In the presence of the exchange alone, the excitation spectrum E(k) and the magnetization < S > analytical expressions are obtained for N=3, 5 and 10 atomic planes using the Green’s function formalism. We also highlighted the existence of N excitation modes in conformity with former studies. A numerical study of the surface anisotropy and dipolar interaction contributions is also reported. A good agreement between the calculated and measured magnetization evolution with an applied magnetic field at 300K is obtained.

The effects of surface spin on magnetic properties of weak magnetic ZnLa0.02Fe1.98O4 nanoparticles

In order to prominently investigate the effects of the surface spin on the magnetic properties, the weak magnetic ZnLa0.02Fe1.98O4 nanoparticles were chosen as studying objects which benefit to reduce as possibly the effects of interparticle dipolar interaction and crystalline anisotropy energies. By annealing the undiluted and diluted ZnLa0.02Fe1.98O4 nanoparticles at different temperatures, w...

Vortex polarity switching in magnets with surface anisotropy

Vortex core reversal in magnetic particle is essentially influenced by a surface anisotropy. Under the action of a perpendicular static magnetic field the vortex core undergoes a shape deformation of pillowor barrel-shaped type, depending on the type of the surface anisotropy. This deformation plays a key point in the switching mechanism: We predict that the vortex polarity switching is accompa...

Curvature effects in statics and dynamics of low dimensional magnets

We develop an approach to treat magnetic energy of a ferromagnet for arbitrary curved wires and shells on the assumption that the anisotropy contribution greatly exceeds the dipolar and other weak interactions. We show that the curvature induces two effective magnetic interactions: effective magnetic anisotropy and an effective Dzyaloshinskii-like interaction. We derive an equation of magnetiza...

Magnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice

In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4),  ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...

Magnetic dipolar ordering and relaxation in the high-spin molecular cluster compound Mn6

Few examples of magnetic systems displaying a transition to pure dipolar magnetic order are known to date. As was recently shown, within the newly discovered class of single-molecule magnets, quite attractive examples of dipolar magnetism may be found. The molecular cluster spins and thus their dipolar interaction energy can be quite high, leading to reasonably accessible ordering temperatures ...
